Thailand
is a home for numerous venues for recreation such as beaches, mountains,
historical sites, temples and parks. And while it is true that this place has five
to six months rainy season, the temperature will not get below 60 degree during
the winter season which is a very good weather. This place also has a very low
and affordable cost of living. In Thailand, you can have an easy
access to international standard hospitals and you can mingle with genuinely
friendly and helpful people. This is indeed a very ideal place to stay after
retirement. The good news is, obtaining a Thailand retirement visa is very
easy.
The first thing that you need to do is
to check Immigration Act B.E. 2522 which is the regulatory law of the Kingdom
when it comes to their dealing with foreigners who would like to enter the
Kingdom. This law describes those aliens that are eligible to enter and those
who are prohibited. The major qualification they impose for the issuance of Thailand retirement
visa is that, you should be at least 50 years old. You should also be able to
show them evidence that you are in possession of money of at least 800,000 Thailand baht
and that the same has been deposited in a Thai bank. The same amount must have
been deposited in said bank for at least
2 months prior to the date of your application. Should an alien not be able to
comply with this requirement, he can just produced document stating that he has
an expected income of at least 65,000 Thailand baht in a month. He can
also show that he has a combined saving or a certification of an annual income
the total of which is 800,000 Baht. The applicant must not have convicted of
any criminal offense from his own country.
The other documentary reportorial requirements
in the application for retirement visa Thailand include a completely filled up
visa application form. The applicant should also include his two passport size photograph which was taken
within the last six months following the date of application. The photocopy of
your travel documents including every stamped page of your passport must
necessarily be included. The passport is required to have a validity of not
less than 18 months. Your financial documents are another very important
documentary requirement. This would include the presentation of the current
balance in your passbook. Each and every page of the bank book must be
photocopied. You must also request from a bank officer an original and stamped
certification of the balance in your account.
Once you have already completed these
requirements, you can submit the application documents either in the Office of
Immigration Bureau in Thailand
or in a Thai Consular Mission Office abroad. Once the Consular official
received the application form along with the documents, he is mandated to
examine the same to verify if they are completed as required. He may further
require a certification to the effect that the applicant has complied with the
necessary financial obligations. He will then mail it to Bangkok, addressed to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. When the Office of the Immigration Bureau has already signified their
approval, the Consular mission will be issuing the retirement visa Thailand to
you.
